current makeup favorites

here are some of my current favorite makeup products. i have gotten a lot of new makeup recently. some of these products i got for christmas and some i bought myself. these products have become part of my daily routine. i’ll start with the face products.

tarte rainforest of the sea foundation: this is an amazing foundation. i think my favorite way to apply this foundation is with a beauty sponge. this foundation has a dropper so i drop about 3 drops onto the sponge and it covers about half of my face. this foundation has great coverage without feeling heavy. it has a nice, natural, satin finish. i don’t know how this would work for oily skin. but i highly recommend for normal to dry skin.

tarte shape tape: i really love tarte products. there is nothing like this concealer. many beauty gurus have raved on and on about this product and there is a good reason! this is the most full coverage concealer you will ever use and it doesn’t get cakey at all. its makeup magic haha. it also dries matte so you don’t really have to set it. its just overall amazing. i have nothing bad to say about this concealer.

tarte confidence creamy powder foundation: haha another tarte face product! this foundation powder is also amazing. i personally think it works best when applied with a sponge. if the shape tape doesn’t cover something, this will! i have recommended this to a few people and they have all loved it as well. this is so full coverage, you could probably not wear concealer and just use this and no one would be able to tell the difference. highly, highly recommend!

colour pop highlighter in smokin’ whistles: as you can tell in the picture, this highlighter is very well loved. it is much different than any other highlighter i own. colour pop is known for their powder formula which is somewhat of a powder cream hybrid. i will say, i do not like this product when i use it with a brush. it is patchy and definitely not as pigmented. but, its so amazing when you apply it with your finger. it does look pink in the first picture, but it is more of a champagne when it’s applied to the face. if you are looking for a very intense highlight, try this one out.

benefit hoola light: i tried the hoola bronzer a while ago, but was disappointed because it was way to dark for me. it was so pigmented that i wasn’t able to use a light hand. when i saw that benefit was coming out with a lighter version, i knew i had to get my hands on it, and it is so good! the formula is amazing, just like the original. this is much lighter, but you can build it up. it’s a great bronzer for anyone who struggles to find light enough bronzers… like me.

morphe 35P palette: i love wearing purples, especially during the spring. i just think this is the perfect palette. i know every one raves about the 35O, but i like purples much better than warm tones, personally. there are so many good colors, and they aren’t all purple. the shimmers in this palette are so good as well as the mattes. these palettes are also very affordable.

covergirl super sizer mascara: this mascara is not new, but new to me. i have always hated the clumpy eyelash look, and i was worried this one would be clumpy. but, it isn’t at all! this mascara perfectly curls the lashes while adding length to your lashes. i just really have been loving this mascara.

bare minerals gen nude gloss in groovy: i have always loved the gen nude range from bare minerals. for some reason, no one ever talked about them. but, (finally) i saw that jaclyn hill and kathleen lights started using this gloss, so i picked up this shade. it’s such a beautiful color. its a great nude to wear on its own and can tone down bolder lipsticks. it can be a little sticky but the stickiness wears off while the shine is still there.

bare minerals gen nude liquid lipsticks in slay and wink: the formula of these are my favorite liquid lipstick formula. i honestly hate drying lipsticks. i feel like they suck the life out of my already small lips. these are more of a mousse/lip stain. they are so comfortable and you can’t even feel them after they dry. i am always asking if my lipstick is still on, because i can’t feel it anymore, and everyone in like “yes?” so yeah, the formula is an a+ for me. i also really like the colors in the range. slay is a cool toned, pinky nude which is great to wear with purples and mauves. wink, my favorite, is the perfect nude shade. it is a nice pink with a hint of peachiness. i highly recommend these lipsticks.

jordana sweet cream lipstick: i have never tried the jordana lipsticks until now. they are so good, and affordable too! this color is very similar to wink from bare minerals. these are more long lasting and a bit more drying than bare minerals. but, these are still very comfortable to wear. i highly recommend these too.

so there you have it. these are my favorite makeup products at the moment. i find myself reaching for each of these every day. i hope you enjoyed! xoxo, corinne.
